Below are answers to some frequently asked questions to save you time and maybe answers to questions you didn’t think to ask. If you should have questions not listed below, please use my contact form here to send me a message.
In a “nutshell”, an Online Business Manager takes over the daily operations of a business to “free up” the business owner. We typically work in these four areas:
With the popularity of Online Business Managers (OBMs) becoming more prominent these days, people are confused about their roles verses the Virtual Assistant (VA) role.
The focus of an OBM is to manage the business and the team. The focus of a VA is doing the tasks assigned to them by the OBM. The OBM will set a strategic plan in place and the VA(s) will carry out that plan.
This is a great questions. I have several options available for you to choose from. My Breakthrough Sessions are package rates and my Management Packages are retainer rates requiring a minimum of 20-hours a month with a 3-month minimum contract to start.
When you buy a package of time with me, I commit to having enough time available to serve you. My commitment to you affects how I work with my other clients. For that reason, I do not offer refunds on unused hours or allow unused hours to roll over.
Yes. I have gone through extensive training, alone with my experience. My specific training was done by The OBM School by Sarah Noked (which I highly recommend). I am certified as an Online Business Manager through The OBM School.
Email is usually the best way to communicate with me; however, Zoom calls, Slack messages, and phone calls may also be used (I set up a Slack Group for all my clients).
I will response as quickly as possible, but within no more than 24 business hours.
I reserve Monday through Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm CST for my clients, and Friday is reserved for my own business work.
Yes. Contracts are required to ensure that we are on the same page in regards to the services that will be provided and the pricing that we have agreed upon.
All services are pre-paid. I invoice 3 days prior to the 1st of the month and payment is due no later than the 3rd day of the month.
Invoices are sent via HoneyBook, which is my Project Management software, and invoices may be paid via credit card as your have set up on your side of the transaction.
For management and custom packages, a 20-hour, 3-month minimum contract is required to start. This is to ensure we have enough time to get your business set up on the right path. Some people require more hours during that first 90 days.
After the initial 90-day period, you can sign an additional 3-, 6-, or 12-month contract (to lock-in your rate), or you may go on a month-to-month contract; whichever you prefer at that time.
Although I will be sad to see you go, I understand that things happen. All contracts will have a 30-day termination notice. You will just need to send me an email at sharon@sharonblalockobm.com letting me know that you will not longer continue your contract, and I will send you any final reports that are outstanding at the end of the 30 days.
